Christopher DeSocio, Esq. has been an attorney at Leanza, Agrapidis & Maroules, P.C. since January 2017. Christopher brings over a decade of extensive legal experience to the team of Leanza Agrapidis & Maroules. Christopher’s specialization includes, but is not limited to, criminal defense, municipal court including DWI/DUI, personal injury including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and workers compensation matters. Christopher frequently appears on behalf of clients at all levels of Court from municipal courts to state courts to Federal Court. Christopher’s trial experience includes having tried cases in Criminal, Civil, Special Civil and municipal court as well as matters before Administrative Law Judges. Christopher has a wealth of experience dealing one-on-one with clients, working with general partners on major litigation cases and has vast court room and trial experience.
After graduating from law school, Christopher started his legal career as an attorney with the Stabile Firm in Woodbridge, New Jersey where he primarily handled municipal Court matters throughout the state of New Jersey. Christopher then worked for the Law Office of Brian C. Freeman, where he was a general practice attorney, primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of municipal court and civil litigation cases. Christopher then moved on to work as an associate with the Law Office of Elise DiNardo in Jersey City, where he concentrated on criminal defense as well as serving as the alternate Public Defender in the Weehawken Municipal Court and as a Pool Attorney for the Hudson County Office of the Public Defender. In addition, Christopher assisted as Board Counsel to the Union City Board of Education handling administrative matters and other Board related legal situations.
Immediately prior to joining Leanza Agrapidis and Maroules, Christopher spent five years as an associate with Ricci Fava, LLC in Passaic County. Christopher’s work at Ricci Fava included criminal defense in municipal court and Superior Court, personal injury matters, worker’s compensation claims and labor/employment related matters for members of the New Jersey Education Association (N.J.E.A.), including investigations of abuse and/or neglect by the Institutional Abuse Investigation Unit.
In addition, Christopher has served as Municipal Public Defender in the Jersey City Municipal Court since 2012 and as an alternate Municipal Public Defender for the township of Guttenberg. As a Public Defender, Christopher represents clients charged with non-indictable criminal offenses, ordinance violations and motor vehicle offenses including DWI/DUI offenses.
Christopher received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 2001 with a concentration in Political Science. Thereafter, in 2004, he received his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut. While in law school Christopher was an intern for the Office of The Public Defender, Hudson County region. While at Quinnipiac Christopher was a Senator of the Student Bar Association and active in several law societies. He also studied abroad at Trinity College, Dublin Ireland. Christopher was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 2004 and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey in 2008.
